What are the available options for scheduling appointments?
Moore Psychology is offering psychological therapy sessions both in-person or via telehealth.

What online platform is used for telehealth?
Coviu, a secure telehealth site is used for all sessions. It is important to check that your device and internet bandwidth can support this platform prior to the first session. Once an appointment is booked, Moore Psychology will email a link that will walk you through how to test computer audio and video, along with instructions on how to access the virtual waiting room.

Do I need a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) to access psychological services with Moore Psychology?
No, you don’t need a care plan. You can access services as a privately funded patient, or with private health insurance if psychological services are covered by your insurer.

How do I get a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)?
Request an appointment with your General Practitioner (GP), who will assess your eligibility for a MHCP. If, on assessment, the GP believes that psychological therapy would benefit your presenting problems they will write a care plan and referral for you. Most GPs will recommend six sessions initially, and request a review before providing an extension of the plan.

How many sessions can I access under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)?
Currently, access up to 10 rebatable sessions is possible in a calendar year.

Do you accept private health insurance?
Yes we do. Phone your private health insurance company and check that psychological therapy is part of your insurance package first.

How long are appointments?
Sessions are 50 minutes.

Is there cancellation fee?
Cancellations made outside of 24 hours do not incur a cancellation fee. Within 24 hours of a scheduled appointment, the full session fee is upheld. Rebates do not apply for appointments that incur a cancellation fee.

How is payment made?
Moore Psychology uses an online health service for managing appointments and payments. At the time of making an initial appointment a credit card is required to be held online so that payments and rebates (If applicable) can be processed at the close of each session. Rebates are also processed at this time. At the end of an episode of care, the stored credit card is removed from this platform.

How do I make an appointment?

How often do I need to attend therapy?
Moore Psychology works with clients on either a weekly or fortnightly basis. You are encouraged to think about this commitment and whether it is reasonable for you to manage.

Is my appointment time set or does it change each week/fortnight?
Moore Psychology works to have consistent appointment times with clients each week/fortnight. The aim of this is to assist clients to plan around their session times and minimise the need to rescheduling.
